Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary:

This position is designed to facilitate collaboration and communication among healthcare providers to move patients smoothly through the clinical and regulatory continuum of care. This advanced practice provider will work in a multidisciplinary integrated team with Physicians, Director, Nursing, Nurse Navigators, Case Managers, Social Workers, Discharge Planners, Pharmacists, and Therapists rounding in an inpatient setting. The NP functions autonomously and in collaboration with the physicians and other healthcare professionals to manage the psychiatric care of patients.

Licenses and Certification:

• Current California RN license
• Nurse Practitioner Certification by the state of California Board of Registered Nursing
• Possession of a furnishing number from the state of California Board of Registered Nursing
• Possession of a DEA number for Scheduled II-V drugs
• Current BLS and ACLS provider cards
• Certification as a Psychiatric Advanced Nurse Practitioner by a nationally recognized certifying organization
• California Board of Registered Nursing listing as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Education:
• Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) required

Experience:

• A minimum of two (2) years clinical experience in a psychiatric acute care setting as a Certified Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
• Advanced Practice Nurse with at least (2) years clinical experience working with persons who have serious mental illness and/or substance abuse disorders.
